How to store makeup neatly

We've all struggled with keeping our homes and rooms tidy, some of us find a way to manage it whilst some of us don't; but that's ok. You don't have to keep everything spotless and prefect; if you are fine with how you have your things (and know where everything is), there's no need to change it. However, if you dislike being untidy and want to keep it neater, but are unsure how, then I will tell you some tips in this blog post. This can also give you additional ideas if you are a tidy person but want a different way to store things.

If you have a small stash of jars and pen holders (which for some reason I find all over the place!?!?) you can easily use them for makeup and brushes. You can store anything in them, mascaras, liquid lipsticks, eyeliners, lip liners, lip glosses, brow products, chubby sticks and brushes. basically, you can put most of your collection in these jars if you want to hard enough, but I probably wouldn't recommend it. I would recommend that you put a few things in jars (all of your lip liners in one, for example)for decoration and you can't really go over the top.

Another way to store some products, particularly nail polishes and lipsticks, is in acrylic trays. You can get them anyway, for £1-£2 in pound land or Primark. These are also great because you can see all (or some!) of your lipsticks and you won't forget about a favourite in the bottom of your draw!

I wouldn't recommend large drawers like the Alex 9 drawers, solely because of the size. you have too much room and feel like you have to fill the whole space. Then you will forget half of your makeup in the deep drawers and have to throw it out from age without using it much.

If you don't have any shelves or storage, you can use a shoe holder. There are some that you can hang up and this is a simple way to store things (not just makeup, but perfect for palettes). It takes very little effort (you don't have to put up any ikea shelves!) and it can store a lot.

I hope this gave you some ideas!<3

Project pan - 28 by 2018 (Eyes)

I thought that, as I have been unsuccessful in the past, I would do another project pan, for the whole year. I am going to try really hard with this one as I want to eliminate any products I don't like/ are too old so I only have good products in my collection. I also feel bad if I waste money and throw away the product so the best way for me to get rid of it is to use it in a project pan. Also, to make sure I don't give up I will do monthly blog posts about it, so I keep the motivation going. I have a wide variety of products and quite a lot, so I will share them with you over 3 blog posts (1 for lips, 1 for eyes and 1 for face products). I made up this challenge myself.

Eyes:
  • Rimmel 5 eyeshadow quad in "022 Brixton brown" - I have had this for ages and only really use 1 shade, I haven't had good experiences with the others but want to give them another chance
  • Seventeen jewel heist eyeshadow palette - I want to use up the gel liner particularly but also want to use the blue eyeshadow a bit
  • Barry m metallic liquid eyeliner in "1" - they don't make this anymore and it is quite old, eventhough this is my favourite eyeliner ever
  • Barry m metallic liquid eyeliner in "5" - they don't make this anymore and it is quite old, I don't reach for it much but it is really pretty
  • Essence pencil eyeliner in "04 white" - this wears off the waterline really quickly so I use it over the lid, as a base
  • Manhattan eyeliner in "plummy" - really pretty shade but I don't use it much, it doesn't last very long
  • Boutique eyeshadow in "forty winks" - I don't think this shade suits me very well but I want to find a way that it works, for me
  • Depotted pink glitter, from makeup revolution's iconic 3 palette - this didn't work for me as a pressed shadow so I depotted it and want to use it more
  • Barry m fine glitter dust in "4" - I don't wear loose glitter much because it is messy so I want to find a way to use this and a look with this that I like
  • MUA eyeliner in "jet black" - this is almost too creamy and doesn't stay on my waterline, I want to find a way to wear this
Hope you enjoyed this and it gave you some project pan ideas!<3

Project pan - 28 by 2018 (Face)

Face:
  • Kiss (Wilkos) prime of your life primer - it has a weird texture but keeps makeup on ok
  • Rimmel wake me up concealer in "010 ivory" - it is too dark and thin, so it doesn't cover much
  • Seventeen 18 hour stay time concealer in "extra fair" - it is too light for my face (good for under the eyes) so I mix it with the Rimmel one, it is also quite old
  • Maybelline cover stick in "01 ivory" - thick but when you blend it out it gives little coverage
  • W7 night glow - dupe of the benefit high beam, I just want to get more use out of this because I always forget how great it is
  • Miss Sporty cream blush in "002 coral flush" - cream blushes scare me but this is actually really pretty and I want to use it more
  • Barry m make me blush (doesn't say shade, bright coral) - I don't use it enough and it looks stunning on top of the cream blush, they are similar shades
  • Rimmel stay matte "peach glow" - it smashed into a loose powder, which is what I use it as now, I need little at a time so want to use it a lot
  • MUA pro base prime and conceal powder - it is taking forever to use up, it is a nice powder though you don't get much product for £4
  • Miss sporty so matte powder in "001 light" - it is way too dark for me so I use it as a bronzer, and you don't need much bronzer
  • Nivea tinted moisturiser in "natural" - this is way darker than I thought it would be so I use it as a cream bronzer but for everyday I don't want an intense bronze look
Hope you enjoyed this and it gave you some project pan ideas!<3

Project pan - 28 by 2018 (Lips)

I thought that, as I have been unsuccessful in the past, I would do another project pan, for the whole year. I am going to try really hard with this one as I want to eliminate any products I don't like/ are too old so I only have good products in my collection. I have a wide variety of products and quite a lot, so I will share them with you over 3 blog posts (1 for lips, 1 for eyes and 1 for face products). I made up this challenge myself.

Lips:
  • MUA £1 lipstick in "bare" - it is old and I have little left so I want to finish it off quickly
  • Nivea pearly shine lip balm: I don't like how this looks on my lips and want to get it out of my collection
  • Barry M lipstick in 101 - it is way too pale for me so I use it for an ombre lip look but I don't enjoy using it
  • Fruity lip gloss in "strawberry" - this is so old I don't think they make it anymore but it is an alright shade, so I want to use it instead of throwing it out
  • Flutter lip gloss - a bit like the Nivea one, really shimmer and glittery(I prefer this) but it isn't my favourite look
  • Depotted Maybelline baby lips in "oh orange" - I want to finish what is left of it
  • Primark lip liner in "nude" - it is apparently a dupe of MAC's velvet teddy so if I use enough I will buy myself velvet teddy
Hope you enjoyed this and it gave you some project pan ideas!<3

What I want for 2017 - goals and ambitions

This new year will hopefully bring good things to my life and I want to do as much as possible in this year as I can, to help me in the future. This includes working on things at school, cadets and other activities, which I will talk about in this post.

Firstly, I want to finish my bronze d of e. I started this in April 2016 at cadets, as soon as I turned 14. At school I would be doing it this year but thanks to air cadets, I got a head start. I have not been giving this as much attention as I should because I haven't even started my skill section yet, nor have I decided what I am going to do. I only have to do it for 12 hours so I am going to choose anything that is available to me. I have nearly completed both my physical (6 months) and my volunteer (3 months) sections.

Also, I want to take my career as an air cadet to the next level and become a corporal, the rank higher than a cadet. I really believe that this will help me develop as a person and help me with life skills. to do so, it is recommended that you go on a camp (which I wanted to do anyway) so I will put my name down for the next one. the only issue is that it will be during school term and collide with anything important, as I am doing my GCSEs. However, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I can catch up with lessons.

On my instagram page I currently have around 230 followers and I really want to reach around 350 at least by the end of the year - that is my current goal. Normally I don't like to set myself goals for fear I don't reach them but this is something I think I can achieve.

I will possibly be starting a YouTube channel this year, but it depends on how things go. Currently my life is busy enough with all of my hobbies, school, homework, sleep, friends and having down time. Most of my down time is spent on social media (a bad habit we all seem to have) so I might try to cut the amount of time I spend on social media down. I feel that I am staring at a screen all day, and it's not healthy.
